What is it?

  • Sheffield’s annual Careers Fair and Exhibition of employment, education and training opportunities

Who is it for?

  • Everyone in Y11,  students at college or sixth form, young people in training, young unemployed people  and  parents / carers

Where / When?

  • Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th November 2007 at The Don Valley Stadium, Worksop Road, Sheffield. Find out whether your school is arranging a group  visit to the event.  There is also an evening session between 5 – 8pm on Tuesday 6th for parents and families

Why?

  • Routes 16 2006 attracted over 3,000 visitors – students, parents and teachers
  • In our 2006  survey of visitors, 96% rated the event as Good or Excellent
  • 45+  organisations regularly take part: a combination of employers, training providers, colleges, sixth forms, universities and voluntary groups representing a wide range of local, regional and national opportunities
  • People on the stands are friendly and approachable and will welcome your questions. Also there is plenty of free information to take away and read
  • During daytime sessions, Connexions Personal Advisers from Sheffield Futures will be running ‘Careers for the Future’ workshops on a variety of relevant topics
  • The parents / families evening session is always highly rated and  will again include a series of talks on Higher Education issues

Come along and find out for yourself!

See your Careers Teacher or Connexions Personal Adviser for more details, and look out for the Event Programme which  will be delivered to your school in early October.
