What is it?
- Sheffield’s annual Careers Fair and Exhibition of employment, education and training opportunities
Who is it for?
- Everyone in Y11, students at college or sixth form, young people in training, young unemployed people and parents / carers
Where / When?
- Tuesday 6th and Wednesday 7th November 2007 at The Don Valley Stadium, Worksop Road, Sheffield. Find out whether your school is arranging a group visit to the event. There is also an evening session between 5 – 8pm on Tuesday 6th for parents and families
Why?
- Routes 16 2006 attracted over 3,000 visitors – students, parents and teachers
- In our 2006 survey of visitors, 96% rated the event as Good or Excellent
- 45+ organisations regularly take part: a combination of employers, training providers, colleges, sixth forms, universities and voluntary groups representing a wide range of local, regional and national opportunities
- People on the stands are friendly and approachable and will welcome your questions. Also there is plenty of free information to take away and read
- During daytime sessions, Connexions Personal Advisers from Sheffield Futures will be running ‘Careers for the Future’ workshops on a variety of relevant topics
- The parents / families evening session is always highly rated and will again include a series of talks on Higher Education issues
