Might sound like a stupid question, but people do it for lots of different reasons. Because it's fun, because they are in love, because they're feeling horny, to show someone they care about them.
But people also do it because thy think they should, to please their partner even though they don't want to, because they feel pressured.
Sometimes people have sex because they are looking for other things: in order to feel close to someone, to gain intimacy, to feel loved, to feel better about ourselves. While sex may enable us to get these, we can get these in other ways, through being with friends, talking, sharing interests, It's important that if we do choose to have sex, we're doing it because we want to, and our partner wants to also.
Sometimes it can seem like everybody's doing it, and that they've tried everything.
You might be feeling left out, unattractive, left on the shelf, frigid... Don't believe it!
Sex can be wonderful, pleasurable and fulfilling - but it's important that you make the decision to do it when you feel ready, not because people on 'Eastenders' are doing it or your friends are encouraging you to do it.
