SAYING NO

*
*

You may be feeling incredibly pressured to have sex by your boyfriend/girlfriend, or the fact that your friends are or say they are, or because of things that you read in magazines or see on TV. You might think that if you don't have sex, your boyfriend/girlfriend will dump you, or that your friends'll laugh at you. But remember you've got a right to say no. It's your body and it's your choice. No one's got a right to pressure you or hassle you into having sex. Sex should be pleasurable. It's about choice and consent.

If you are feeling pressured, and you're scared or confused, it can help to talk to someone you trust and who respects you, maybe a friend or family member or a local confidential service. It's ok to wait. You don't have to rush into anything. You've got your whole life ahead of you.
