It's about reliability, loyalty, expressing feelings, giving and getting compliments, equality, sharing secrets, keeping confidences, having fun, and sharing interests.
Friendships can support us if we're having difficulties with boyfriends/girlfriends, give us space to check out feelings and dilemmas, we can also repay the favour if our friends are having problems.
Think about your friendships and what's special about them. Tell your friends how special they are and how much you value them. Pay each other compliments. This might sound embarrassing or awkward, but it's worth it.
