Eating healthily means eating lots of vegetables and fruit, and not eating a lot of fat and sugar.
When you are a young person, you are growing all the time and your body shape will change quite dramatically over a short period of time in the time it takes to become a young adult. You will experience a lot of emotional changes and this will affect the way that you see yourself in relation to other young adults (friends, brothers and sisters etc).
Food is important during your growth years as you need the nutrition that food provides in order to grow healthy and strong. Eating the wrong foods or skipping meals can cause health problems such as fainting, feeling unwell and other problems in later life.
Weight. A lot of people - even pop stars and models - aren't happy about their shape. It is important that you don't allow other people's opinions about what's a good body shape and what's not to affect your feelings about your own body shape. Everyone is different and there is no such thing as the 'perfect figure'.
If you aren't happy about your weight you can talk to your doctor. If you are at school ask the nurse. If you don't want to see a doctor or nurse and want to talk to someone you can ring NHS Direct 0845 46 47.
