- Found as Cannabis Resin (hash, blow, draw, hashish)
- Found as Herbal Cannabis (marijuana, grass, bush, weed, pot)
Description
- Cannabis resin is small, brown lumps varying in colour from golden brown to black, the most common being brown
- Cannabis leaves, stalks and seeds look like green-brown tobacco
- It also comes as a sticky oil, this is known as cannabis oil
Use
- It can be rolled like a cigarette and smoked, smoked in a special pipe or eaten
- Cannabis varies in strength
- It is a Class B drug, however cannabis oil is a Class A drug
Effects
- Cannabis relaxes users but can sometimes make people feel anxious
- It can leave people feeling tired, lacking energy and craving foods
Risks
- Cannabis can lower concentration and co-ordination
- It can cause paranoia
- Some people become psyshologically dependant and a few people show signs of physical dependance and need help to stop
- Smoking cannabis can cause serious liver damage
- Cannabis use may increase the risk of throat and mouth cancer, more so even than tobacco
Law
- Possessing Cannabis can lead to a maximum of 5 years imprisonment and an unlimited fine
- Supplying Cannabis (including passing a joint to a friend) can lead to 14 years imprisonment and an unlimited fine
