Personal Safety

When drinking alcohol the thing that people often don't think about is how to look after themselves when drunk. Alcohol seriously lowers inhibitions, which means people take more risks without thinking about the consequences. People who have been drinking are more likely to get in a fight, have an accident, cause arguments, and make bad/risky decisions like having unprotected sex. This can lead to unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections.

Your Choice

If your friends are drinking and you don't want to, don't. Never let anyone pressurise you into something that you don't want to do. If they're true friends they will respect your decision. Despite it probably seeming that everybody your age drinks alcohol, they don't. Only 25% of young people aged 11 to 15 drink every week. That's 75% of you who don't.
